20th March means one thing… the Spring Equinox begins! What better way to welcome in the new bloom than by looking for some activities to do with your patient?

Spring is the start of warmer weather. Brighter days are the perfect time to get outdoors for some fresh air and Vitamin D.

Here are some spring activity ideas to do with your client:

Nature Walks

If you’re caring for a client with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and so on, nature walks are a great way to get some fresh air. This is great for your mind, body, and soul.

A great tip would be to source out a doable trail that won’t be too difficult for your client. Make sure to find somewhere that has benches or picnic tables to rest and get ready to go again.

Picnics

Another great way to spend some quality time with your client during the springtime is to pack a picnic to take with you on your walk. This is a lovely and wholesome idea where your client can enjoy some good food in the fresh air.

Gardening

This is something we have briefly touched upon before. Gardening is a great activity for older clients to get involved in some light exercise and they can create a garden they will love spending time in.

Spring Cleaning

Creating a light cleaning routine is great exercise for older clients. We have created a previous blog about creating a light spring-cleaning routine so make sure to check that out if you’re looking for some inspiration and guidance.

Seasonal Crafts

With Mother’s Day, Easter, and the Spring bloom around the corner, arts and crafts is always a big hit when you’re looking for an easy activity to do with your client. It’s a great way to get your client’s family involved to help them create some wholesome memories and crafts that they can keep forever.

These are just a few activity ideas to do with your client and enjoy this spring. For more information about our homecare services, visit our website or give us a call for some today!
