Job Title: Community Support Worker - Older Adult Care

Reporting to: Service manager, care coordinator or supervisor in charge

Job Purpose

A Community Care Worker supports customers to:

  • Live well and stay active.
  • Eat well and remain safe, warm, happy, and healthy.
  • Take responsibility for their care and support.

Training and Compliance:

  • Complete induction and mandatory training.
  • Undertake NVQ Level 2 training (if not already qualified).
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities


Customer Care:

  • Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, and maintaining skin integrity.
  • Use pressure care aids as prescribed.
  • Support customers in social activities to improve quality of life.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or complaints to senior staff.

Home Environment:

  • Ensure a clean, safe environment for service users and staff.
  • Make beds, collect specimens, and assist in other daily living needs.

Other Duties:

  • Participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System policies.

Job Role Details


Shift Patterns

  • Morning/Dinner: 7:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Tea/Bed: 4:00 PM–10:30 PM (30-minute tolerance for flexibility).
  • Alternate weekend availability is required.
  • Use a digital system for accurate, up-to-date information.
